Enjoy your Summer, Students!
Given our location, in the middle of the University of Alabama campus, the congregation of University Lutheran Church sees its primary mission in providing a home-away-from-home to the university students. We do so both in terms of a place to worship and a place to gather during the week. We welcome not only Lutheran students but also all those interested in traditional forms of worship and/or seeking community and a place of respite. The congregation generously supports this ministry: financially, through our investment of time and talents, and through simple being-with.
The Lord has blessed us tremendously. Our student ministry is vibrant and growing. It is also in need of your support. Please partner with us in supporting this essential mission! And keep us in your prayers!
Student Dinner and Bible Study is currently paused through the summer.

The 2 x 2 program shares the Good News in the after school children program at BBYMCA and the housed children at the Tuscaloosa County Juvenile Detention Center. The Children tell the story of Christmas: the birth of Jesus Christ. The work of the Triune God is made known through song, Bible study, written activities, and discussions.

Before University of Alabama home football games, members of the church park cars on our grounds. We enjoy meeting fellow Bama fans, and the conversations that follow. It is not uncommon for people to share prayer requests with members of our church.

Norma Stordahl from University Lutheran Church and Ruthie Martin from Christ Lutheran Church lead a group whose focus is quilting, crocheting, needlework, and sewing. Items made by ladies are donated to veterans, Lutheran World Relief, nursing homes, Caring Days and special individuals as needs arise. This group meets every second and fourth Thursday at ULC for quilting and fellowship.

We partner with Grace Food Bank on a quarterly basis to provide canned food, boxed food, and cold items. These items are distributed to those in need. We collect food items in the lobby on Sundays, but we also accept financial donations to be spent on items of greatest need.

We do not livestream, nor do we have all our sermons online, but Vicar Boston has been building an online library of sermons preached at ULC.
